If you'd like a few portraits at Kennesaw Mountain, we'll borrow twenty quiet minutes at the fields near the visitor center and then get you back to your people. The summit is worth it too, but the road up is closed to cars now — it's the park shuttle or a walk — so that's something we'd plan into the day properly rather than squeeze in.

There's the long, late light off the mountain, the brick and railroad of downtown, the gardens and the front porches — plenty of honest backdrops that don't need dressing up. - All of Kennesaw and the surrounding Cobb County area — downtown Kennesaw, the venues near Kennesaw Mountain, Smith-Gilbert Gardens, and out into greater metro Atlanta. If your ceremony and reception are in different spots, or you're getting ready somewhere across town, that's normal and easy to plan around. Traveling a bit farther out can usually be arranged — just ask.
- Where are good places to take photos in Kennesaw?
- More than you'd think. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park has open fields and long views, and from the summit on a clear day you can pick out the Atlanta skyline — worth knowing the summit road is closed to cars now, so the top means the park shuttle during its daytime hours or a walk up. The fields near the visitor center are an easy stop either way. Smith-Gilbert Gardens stays green and quiet through most of the year, though it's ticketed and keeps daytime hours, so we'd fit it around your timeline rather than the other way round. And downtown Kennesaw — brick storefronts, the railroad, the old depot — has real character without feeling staged. We'll choose spots that fit your day and the time we actually have.
- How many hours of coverage will we need?
- It depends on the shape of your day. A ceremony and reception at a single venue often fits inside one continuous block, while a day that starts with getting ready and runs late into the dancing needs more. Tell me your rough timeline and I'll help you figure out where coverage should start and stop so nothing important slips by.
- When should we book?
- Sooner is safer, especially for spring and fall Saturdays, which tend to go first around Atlanta. Once you have a date and a venue, reach out — if I'm open, we'll hold it. If I'm already booked, I'd rather tell you early so you have time to find the right fit.
- Do we need a permit to shoot at Kennesaw Mountain?
- For the ceremony itself, the answer is no — Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a National Park Service site, and the park's own permit page says permits will not be issued for weddings or like functions. So the usual shape is to marry at your venue and treat the mountain as somewhere we go for a few frames afterward. For the photography side, park rules and access do change, so I'll confirm what's current before we plan your timeline around it. Plenty of couples do exactly this and it works beautifully.
